    An iconic pohutukawa hanging over Karekare Road is being investigated by Auckland Transport for removal.   • Final plant completes job in Domain

    Twelve people quickly dealt with the remaining 400 plants in the Piha Domain on Saturday 27 June.     The controversial proposal for a guardrail before the lookout on Piha Road (near 101 Piha Road), has ended with Auckland Transport not going ahead.
