Piha contains a number of Outstanding Vegetation Sites in the operative Auckland Council District Plan.

Number 96 Piha, Piha Parklands, Along Whites Track, North Piha, Manuka scrub on rugged hill country

97 Piha, Piha Parklands, Taitomo Island, Coastal shrubland on exposed rocky coast. Only example in Waitakere Ecological District

98 Piha, Piha Parklands, On headland overlooking Taitomo Island, Coastal herbfield on exposed rocky coast. Only example in Waitakere Ecological District. (Note: probably destroyed by 1994 fire)

99 Piha, Piha Parklands On Fisherman’s Rock Point Phormium flaxland on exposed rocky coast. Only example in Waitakere Ecological District

100 Piha, Piha Parklands Mead Gully by Glen Esk Stream, Piha Catchment. Mature kauri forest on rugged hill country

101 Piha, Piha Parklands, North bank of Wekatahi Stream, Piha catchment, Kauri-tanekaha on rugged hill country

102 Piha, Piha parklands, east bank of Glen Esk Stream, Piha catchment, Kanuka forest on rugged hill country
