Peak winds of up to 130 km/hr hit the south and west of Auckland around 8 am on 3 March.

Civil Defence and Emergency reports that power was cut in a number of places in Auckland, but by 9 am had been restored in all but the Kaipara and Piha, where 198 properties were without power.
