Surf Clubs

SURF LIFE SAVING NORTHERN REGION'S 75th JUBILEE

There are two surf clubs at Piha: Piha at Piha beach and United at North Piha.

Both beaches conduct regular volunteer patrols on the beaches through summer, the season commencing at Labour Day Weekend (October) and ending at Easter. There are paid lifeguards for a short period during the Christmas/January holidays.

Patrols usually run from 9am to 6pm but can be shorter or longer. Patrols are visible by red and yellow flags on the beach to mark the patrolled areas. Swimmers can inquire at the surf clubs.
