The club was founded in 1952, and an important event is the annual Anzac Day parade to lay wreaths at the plaques on Lion Rock. The largest plaque commemorates the 17 men from the Piha Mill who died in the First World War, as well as those who were wounded and who served in the war. The plaque was unveiled in the 1920s. A second plaque commemorates men living at Piha and surrounding districts who died or served in the Second World War. This plaque was unveiled on 19 February 1950. The Anzac Day parade is held every 25 April, commencing at around 1.45 pm from the RSA in Beach Valley Road. The parade is piped down to and across the beach, where a service is held, wreaths are laid and a bugler plays the Last Post. Meals are served Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm. Quality food at reasonable prices. Blackboard menu changing weekly, including vegetarian and children's meals.
